I am a native english speaker. You could say:

They are on a different employment status.

They are on different employent statuses.

It depends on the context or meaning of what you are trying to say.

They are on a different employment status (they are a group on the same employment status as each other in the group, but different to another group).

They are on different employment statuses (within the group, some have a different status to others within that group).

Hope you can understand what I mean!

Dear Clever,
i think itisbetter to say :
They Stay in differnt positions in thier work .
or
They are not stable in thier work .
IF u mean thatthey some times work and other do not havr the chance .

I would use the verb "to have" instead of "to stay"

They have different employment statuses.  (different from each other)

or – They have a different employment status. (this group is the same status but different from another or other groups)

I made an assumption on the context – like it was a recruitment agency – they take people on different employment contracts. Or like foreign workers – they have different legal status.

Gkisseberth's suggestion is excellent. And Yusufali's suggestion is good if you mean status to mean – employed or unemployed.

It is difficult without setting the context or knowing exactly what you are trying to say.

well at the 1st place i wanna tell u that i am in Beijing just in case if u want to be my friend.

About sentence my assessment is that it wd be right to say the following instead of "they stay on different employment status" as

1.  they are on different employment status

or

2. they hold different employment status

however whatever may be the choice, it won't convey the right sense without a pretext and a situation.
