“Neat” has many meanings. You might know the word “neat” to mean clean ororganized, as in, “I want your bedroom to be neat and tidy before dinner.”


Today the words cool or awesome are used more often, but 20 years ago, people also described things they liked as “neat.” For example, “That’s a really neat bicycle” (“Your bicycle is awesome! I like your bike!”), or “Giving Julia a party is a neat idea” (“That’s a great idea. Let’s give Julia a party.”).
