For all your advice, he has persisted in his own ways.

In the above sentence, I’d like to know the meaning of the first part of the sentence(i.e. for all your advice)?

Best regards,

Abhishek

Hi Abhishek,

What a strange sentence! I understand “for” to mean “despite.” In other words, “Despite all the advice you gave him, he is still doing things his own way.” Or “Even though you gave him a lot of advice, he’s still doing what he wants to do and how he wants to do it.”

I hope this helps!

Best,

Amy
