Hi!

I’d like to ask you a question: If someone wants to talk about their family, which sentece is correct?

(1) There are four members in my family.

(2) There are four of us in my familly.

(3) My family has four members.

Which one is more used, sounds more natural? Or none of them?

Thanks a lot!!

Hi,

Actually, all of your sentences are correct English sentences, and a native speaker would easily understand your meaning with any of them.

However, the most “natural sounding” to me is #2. This is the type of sentence you would hear most native speakers using casually.

I hope that helps!

Best,

Amy
