Intro
1. Learn Vocabulary - Learn some new vocabulary before you start the lesson.
2. Read and Prepare - Read the introduction and prepare to hear the audio.
Tanis rented a new house about a month ago, but she hasn’t moved in yet. She keeps talking about her new house and how great it is, so I wanted to know when she was going to start actually living there.
Dialog
1. Listen and Read - Listen to the audio and read the dialog at the same time.
2. Study - Read the dialog again to see how the vocab words are used.
Miguel: So Tanis, how is your move going?
Tanis: Oh, you know, I’ve just been kind of haphazardly moving this week.
Miguel: When’s your plan to, you know, really move?
Tanis: This weekend is the big effort.
Miguel: So how do you get fired up for it?
Tanis: I think once Saturday morning rolls around, I’ll just throw on some, some music that, that makes me want to work.
Miguel: What are you gonna listen to?
Tanis: I like… Oh, you know what I did? I bought the, the Best of George Michael. And he has all of his fast songs on one CD, and that kind makes me wanna just dance around and get working, I guess.
Miguel: I see. So does the dancing detract from the moving, ‘cause you think you’re about to move, but then all of a sudden you have to dance, and you’re not sure what to do.
Tanis: (Laughs)
Miguel: It’s kinda hard to dance with like a sofa in your hands.
Tanis: (Laughing) Well my plan is that while I dance, all my friends can carry the furniture and move.
Miguel: (Laughs) That’s a perfect plan.
Tanis: (Laughs) Yeah.

Discussion
Tanis needs to get her stuff moved this weekend. Hopefully she can convince her friends to help her. I would probably help her, but she hasn’t asked me. I am interested in seeing her new house.
Do you live in an apartment or a house? Do you like to listen to music when you’re working? Come to the MUSIC MIX message board and let us know!
We’ll be back next week with another interesting conversation about music!
