1. Quote - Listen to the quote and guess what the slang means.

“No more kids for me. I’m cool. I’m chilling now. And no more marriage.”
- Eminem, rapper and music producer, talking about his family situation.

1. Definition - Study the definition.

spending time somewhere; relaxing

2. Use - Learn how the slang is used.

When you are chilling, you are calm and relaxed, with no worries. Chilling can either refer to your state of mind or it can be used to indicate what you are doing, at a certain point in time. You could be sitting on the front porch of your house, waiting for your friends to come over. If somebody asked you what you were doing, you could tell them that you were chilling.
If you were waiting for the results of a very important test and someone asked you how you felt, you could tell them that you were chilling, which would mean that you are not worrying about the test.

1. Examples - Hear some example sentences.

””When you called me last night I’m sorry I didn’t answer the phone. I was watching TV, chilling with my sister.”“

””Jason asked Renae to go to the dance with him, but she hasn’t told him if she’ll be his date or not. He doesn’t seem worried about it though. He is chilling over there by the fountain, talking to Vanessa.”“

””I plan on spending my summer drinking iced tea and chilling by the pool.”“

””Mary spent Thursday evening reading a good book and chilling to some cool music.”“
