Hi Friends!
Exercise is an important part of life. Exercise keeps the body and mind healthy and fit. There are lots of ways to exercise, including playing sports, jogging, riding a bicycle, lifting weights, doing aerobics or yoga and/or about a million other things. One of the most common ways for people to maintain an exercise regimen is to go to a gym.
Beth has had a gym membership for a few years, but she recently gave it up. Listen to her conversation with John to find out why.

John: Did you finally cancel your gym membership?
Beth: I did. Yesterday I went in and said, “That’s it! I’m out of here.”
John: So, why’d you do that again?
Beth: Well, in the summer with the warm weather I love being outdoors and I just wasn’t really using it, and needed a change, I guess.
John: Didn’t you say something about getting a exercise bike or a Soloflex[/def] or, like a yoga ball or something for your home?
Beth: Yeah. I’m actually researching options, but, um, I think it will be fun in the winter to have a bike.
John: Oh, like one of those stationary bikes and you can watch TV and stuff.
Beth: Yeah! Don’t you think that will be cool?
John: Yeah, my mom used to have one when I was a little kid. She used to watch Oprah[/def] and watch the bike.
Beth: I don’t know about watching Oprah, but definitely I’ll rent movies and enjoy it.

Having a gym membership is a convenient way to get access to exercise facilities, but the truth is that many people who have memberships never go to the gym. For whatever reason, they keep paying their fees every month, but they don’t make the time to go.
I have to admit, I don’t make it to the gym much. I’ve had a membership at 24 Hour Fitness for several years, but in the past few months I’ve only been to the gym a handful of times. Just writing this is making me feel guilty. I better go to the gym today!
Have a great week!
