put all of one’s attention and effort into doing something
2. Use - Learn how the slang is used.
If you want to do something well, you have to focus. You can’t read a book while you’re talking on the phone, for example. Or do your grocery shopping while playing a video game. Or drive a car while doing, well, anything else. It’s not only impossible, but it’s also dangerous!
No, to do something well, you must put your mind to it. If you put all of your attention on one activity, you’re more likely to be successful than if you do several things at once. Is your homework difficult? Just put your mind to it and you’ll get it finished. Are you having a problem at work? If you put your mind to it, you’ll work it out. Are you unsure of how to tell your parents that you’re moving away? Take some time to really put your mind to it and you’ll find the right words.
Singer Justin Bieber believes that you can do anything, as long as you put your mind to it. And he’s right. You can do it!
What’s difficult for you? When you put your mind to it, are you successful?
