Today as my mom’s suggest, I decided to made klepon after it was delayed for almost 2 weeks. Klepon is a famous Indonesia snacks and it tasted so great ! When you eat it, the palm sugar inside klepon will “ pop” and melt on your tongue. Beside that, to made this dish, it’s very easy. This is how I make it :
I need : 350 grams of glutinous rice flour, 50 ml of water, a lil bit salt, 100 grams of brown sugar, and 1/4 of grated steamed coconut. ( grated the coconut first, then steam it )
Process : mix the flour with water and salt until the flour can be shaped into dough. You can add water or flour again if you feel the dough is too crusty or too flabby. Next, shape the dough and put some brown sugar inside the dough, and shape it into like balls. Heat the water until it boiled, then put klepon on the boiled water. Wait until klepon float, then take the cooked klepon and roll it in grated coconut. Finish !
Here’s my klepon “homemade” result :
*Be careful to eat it.. if you don’t want your clothes get dirty.
Note :
Because this is my own homemade klepon, so I don’t use food coloring or pandan leaves to make the dough become green. The real klepon should have a green color.... so for me this isn’t the real klepon, this is ( snowy klepon ). :P
