Hello, dear Eleniya.

I am back and I `ve missed you a lot. ♥

I love this time of the year because we have so many wonderful holidays and I`m looking forward to the New year`s day. All teachers will have 2 week`s holidays  and  I`m so happy because  I feel tired  of endless lessons.

This year winter in Ukraine is unexpectedly warm. I hope  we will have snow very soon. I can`t imagine the New Year`s day without snow. No fun  for both kids and adults.

Tomorrow is a wondeful winter holiday - The Day of Saint Nikolai. There is a legend that explains why there are two days for celebration.

  «Раз в осеннюю пору увязил мужик воз на дороге. Знамо, какие у нас дороги; а тут еще случилось осенью – так и говорить нечего! Мимо идет Касьян-угодник. Мужик не знал его и давай просить: «Помоги, родимой, воз вытащить!» – «Поди ты, – сказал ему Касьян-угодник, – есть мне когда с вами валандаться!» Да и пошел своею дорогою. Немного спустя идет тут же Никола-угодник. «Батюшка, – завопил опять мужик, – батюшка! Помого мне воз вытащить!» Никола-угодник и помог ему. 
     Вот пришли Касьян-угодник и Никола-угодник к Богу в рай. «Где ты был, Касьян-угодник?» – спросил Бог. «Я был на земле, – отвечал тот, – прилучилось мне идти мимо мужика, у которого воз завяз; он попросил меня: помоги, говорит, воз вытащить; да я не стал марать райского платья». – «Ну а где ты так выпачкался?» – спросил бог у Николы-угодника. «Я был на земле; шел по той же дороге и помог мужику вытащить воз», – ответил Никола-угодник. «Слушай, Касьян, – сказал тогда Бог, – не помог ты мужику. За то будут тебе через три года служить молебны. А тебе, Никола-угодник, за то, что ты помог мужику воз вытащить , будут служить молебны два раза в год». С тех пор так и сделалось: Касьяну в високосный год служат молебны, а Николе два раза в год».

I`m sure, St.Nikolay will give all good children incredibly beautiful presents.
