Spain

January 16, 2010

Today i meet one old friend that didn´t know her for a really long time, but meeting her had remebered me that the names that we use in this part of spain are really difficult to pronunciate and that are really strange outside.

I will give some examples and the meaning in vasc (is not spanish), common names of girls: Ohiane (jungle), Ohiana (meadow),Haizea( wind), Ainhoa, Ane, Uxue( dove), Nahia(want),Maitane(who loves or who is love), Ilargi( moon),Zuriñe (white),Nekane, Garbiñe ( who is pure), Itsaso(sea),Eneritz, Eneida, Larraitz... and my own name is complicate because is strange and the people don´t remenber it, haha i have heard millions of times the cuestion "sorry, ¿ could u repeat your name? please" sometimes it can be irritating.

And boys names... Aitor (tell the truth), Ekaitz (flash of lightning), Asier (start), Eneko( mine), Xabier,Ibinka,Erlantz, Julen, Mikel (mike in english), Alvaro, Elan, Diego, Beñat (warrior or who is strong), Andrés, Arkaitz(rock), Odei ( cloud),...

¿What do you think about them?¿strange?Anyway there are simple names too,  as Maria, Ana, Sonia,Laura...

More entries: De regreso!!!! (1), end of the summer, my holydays: Rome, San Fermines (4), party!!! (1), San Juanes (2), me, sun, ^^ (4), difficult names
