The month of rosary

 

Living as a Christian, avoiding mortal sin, by acting more by fear than by love and prayer from time to time the Blessed Virgin, and honor as Mother of God, but without any special devotion to her (SM 25). This seems to be the most common devotion, by far, in our parishes.

Have a greater love for the Blessed Virgin, great confidence, and great reverence. According to this devotion, pray the rosary and the rosary, we can enter into associations Marian, honor the altars and images of Mary. Christians with this devotion are fewer. St Louis-Marie noted that this devotion, excellent in fact, do not loose the souls of themselves and the attractiveness of this world to unite to Jesus Christ (SM 26).

Finally, very little known, is to give whole, as a slave, Mary and Jesus by it. Then, all done by Mary, Mary, with Mary and Mary (SM 28), in order to do so by Jesus, Jesus, with Jesus and Jesus. Here, I do not think there is a lot of people, compared to the other two devotions above.

The first step in the third form of Marian devotion is an act of consecration to Mary. "Consecration to Mary" is a term may be strong, is a misnomer: it is in fact to give to Jesus Christ through Mary. It is a renewal of baptismal vows by which a commitment to follow Jesus Christ in giving a whole to Mary.

The term "slave" is strong, does not it? Let us not forget that these are written from the early eighteenth century. This shock probably our modern mentality, cradled philosophies of freedom, hedonism and so despite the fact that man is a slave of God in nature.


However, we can understand that commitment as a slave, because they are giving everything, retaining nothing for himself. In contrast with the concept of servant, who receives a salary and is free to leave his job when he wishes. It is a slavery of love, because the love of God and His Mother, who lead us to abandon everything.
