- It is a true story happened in a manufacturing company.
- A man wanted to work for the company. But a company guard didn’t let him in because he was 37 years old. The man wanted to work for the company to earn money to support his family. He gave 800 Yuan to a company guard. The safeguard introduced the man to HR. But the safeguard didn’t tell HR that he accepted 800 Yuan from the worker. Finally, the man became a worker of the company.
- One night the worker had words with a safeguard. A few minutes later, the safeguard called other guards about 20 more members to support him and gathered in front of the company. Meanwhile the worker was calling his co-workers to come to support him. The conflict nearly jumped into a fight. Luckily the two groups didn’t fight. That was not the end. When the Production Department Manager investigated the conflict, the manager found the worker and his coworkers working in the same team and from same region. The manager thought it was not too good to let so many people from same region work in one team. The manager wanted to let the worker join other teams. But the worker wasn’t happy and wanted to quit from the company. The production manager agreed his resignation. The worker felt unfair because he gave 800 Yuan to company guard when he enterer into the company but the other workers didn’t’. The worker told such thing to the production manager. The production manager together with HR manager investigated the bribery. The first guard who accepted the man’s money said he gave the money to another guard. But the ‘another” guard left the company because his contract was terminated by the end of last December. No one knows where the 800 Yuan is.
- For some people, 800 Yuan is not too much. But for a labor worker, 800 Yuan is almost equal to his half-month salary. I don’t want to discuss how important the 800 Yuan is for a labor worker.
- Here, I want to say that as a company guard, he doesn’t have the right to forbid the man who comes to find job from the company. For the man, if he wants to work for the company, he must have the chance to meet interviewers. But the guard forbids him to enter into the company. That is the rub. In order to earn money to support his family, the man gives money to the guard. Maybe such thing is very common for some of us. But it is unusual for me. I think such guard disgraces his company’s image. His action is shameful. If such bribery can’t be eliminated from company’s guards, no one would like to find job from that company in future. And it is very dangerous for a company’s growth.
