To improve my English, I join the NDI school in Dalian ,China. There are about 6 foreign teachers, some from England, some from Australia, and some from USA.In my VIP course,Scott, who is from England, studyed the same major with me(Hotel Mangement) in his university. It‘s amazing that he has worked in hotels 13 years ,keeping gaining promotions. He shared lots of story with me about his hotel career. It adds me more dynamic to work in a hotel in the future after university. And then ,the English Corner, BEC,Listening,Reading, other courses included, are interesting and I can learn more than I expect .In total, the key to improve your English is to talk with a guy whose mother language is English.Do you think so ?

it's not quite about the topic, it's about how you provide it, how you plan it, whether it helps the students in their life, how respectfully you treat your students, how you understand their culture, how passionate and enthusiastic you're in teaching, is the material interspersed with jokes, or just monotous repetition of the curriculum, ( if you hear laughter behind the door of the classroom, it's half of the success),  how not biased a theacher is, taking everyone objectively. That's what it's not boring to me :) and then, yes, the topic will be up to me;)

Yep, it's beneficial if the english teacher is a native speaker. But! it involves some other aspects as well, as being knowledgeable and not boring.
