Stumbled across this entry and found it so strikingly poignant yet beautiful that I decided to put it here...Let's make it a tribute to those who died in the shooting at Virginia Tech, although it was awhile ago...it's also to those who exited from our lives too early. afterall, for some, it's too soon, too soon to say goodbye. but just bear in mind that they are all shining down on us from heaven, like stars...

The Dead

        ----- Billy Collins
The dead are always looking down on us, they say,
while we are putting on our shoes or making a sandwich,
they are looking down through the glass-bottom boats of heaven
as they row themselves slowly through eternity.
They watch the tops of our heads moving below on earth,
and when we lie down in a field or on a couch,
drugged perhaps by the hum of a warm afternoon,
they think we are looking back at them,
which makes them lift their oars and fall silent
and wait, like parents, for us to close our eyes.
when you are old
When you are old and gray and full of sleep,
And nodding by the fire, take down this book,
And slowly read, and dream of the soft look,
Your eyes had once, and of their shadows deep.

How many loved your moments of glad grace,
And loved your beauty with love false or true,
But one man loved the pilgrim soul in you,
And loved the sorrows of your changing face.

And bending down beside the glowing bars,
Murmur,a little sadly,how love fled,
And paced upon the mountains overhead,
And hid his face amid a crowd of stars.

I used to think that dream was a very important part of our lives.Cause we are alive,we don’t know what will happen. And sometimes we meet so many difficulties,it’s easy for us to lose brave and confidence, even give up at that time. But dreams can encourage us,hold the fire for us in the darkness. If we have colourful dreams in our heart,we will know what we want, and then try our best to reach our goals.

So,I used to be a girl full of fantasitic in my mind..I thought life was so bored and simple, everyday looked the same.I knew the key to my future is in my hand. But I’m just a high school student,I still need to go a long road(1 year) before I become an aldutus, free to decide my lifestyle.Maybe 1 year was too long for me.Yeah,I want to be special,I want to be anything but ordinary. But it’s impossible now.So the only way can I forget my sadness was dreaming.

Yeah,I dreamed a lot.But at last, what I got was only disappointed.Reality is curel.I know everybody has his dreams. But most of them cannot come ture.We will be more disappointed if we hope more.

I know the persons who have dreams are happy. But that happiness is not reliable.I believe deeply that there is one thing can bring us more happiness than dream.

We dream, cos the reality doesn’t satisfy us. No body can live a life without difficulties, even a munite. If our lives base on dreams, how can we carry on living if our dreams break?

If our dreams are come ture.We maybe not be happy as we expected.Cos though they come ture.new difficulties come to us.

Greedy people won’t get happiness forever.Cos they want too much.God won’t give us all we want. But we can get the most valuable thing we want if we try our best to get it.

So we must learn to cherish, cherish all the things by our side.

I think whether a person can get happiness or not is depends on his character.Whether he is greedy or not, christian or not.

Substantial people will get happiness more easily.cos they know satisfaction.

I believe, clever girls will keep energy and beautiful forever!

Iris,

Dreams can be Scary even when you know they will turn out alright.  Dreams mean Change which is something many people don't rush into with delight,

But Dreams mean hope, shows perseverance, and can eliminate all of these fears. Dreams mean ambition, an investment that is well worth all of those tears.
