“Hello. I am Woodward from Washington Post. Could I ask you a few questions?” For Woodward, that was always an opening of a tough interview.

The scene above appeared thousands of time during Woodward and Bernstein’s investigation on Watergate Case in the film “ All the president’s men.” Woodward and Bernstein were the first reporters to stumble on a possible connection between the Watergate break-in and the Nixon’s White House. The film was made in 1976 and directed by conspiracy film specialist Alan J. Pakula. Martin Balsam and Hal Holbrook acted the two great journalists in the film.

Woodward and Bernstein’s Watergate coverage was helped a lot by a whistleblower Deep Throat, whose role was to be a tipster from politicians. His identify was kept as a mysterious secret by Woodward. Follow his suggestions, the two young reporters got out a story about crime, scandals and presidential cover-up, which let to an explosive result.

The most interesting thing in the film was the method to arrange meetings between Woodward and Deep Throat. Instead of phones calls, they created some secret signals such as a flowerpot, a red flags and hands of a clock to show their requests.  That way tensed up the ambience of the film.

The film told a real story about the big historical event occurred during Nixon’s 1972 re—election campaign. It helps to know what exactly happened at that time. In addition, you will be moved by the two journalist’s determination---never gave up to get the truth.
