Spring is coming.. so time to talk about love ;) today I took some light reading and found new idioms , maybe it will come in handy for you …

Love bird(humorous) – two people who show by their behaviour that they love each other very much.  "How do they manage to look like a love birds after ten years of marriage ? "

Love bite – a red mark on someone’s skin caused by someone else sucking. "I have to wear a scarf because of a love bite on my neck. "

Love child – a child whose parents are not married. "He’s said to be a love child of Brad Pitt , but I doubt that is really so . "

Love nest – a place for lovers to hide away. "Apparently they had a love nest in Soho where they used to meet in a lunchtime."

 Lovey- dovey (informal) - behavior that is lovey-dovey is too romantic. "I’m fed up with this lovey-dovey phone calls."

 Kiss something better – take away the pain of the injury by kissing it. "Poor finger! Come here let me kiss it better."

 Steal a kiss – kiss somebody suddenly or secretly. "He first stole a kiss from me when teaching me to ride a bike. "

Not for love nor for money – it’s impossible to do something "The show is sold out I can’t get ticket for love no money."

 Puppy love – romantic love which a young person feels for someone and which usually disappears as they become older." At that time I was sure I would marry him when I grew up but of course it was just a puppy love. "

Love’em and leave’em . This phrase is used to describe a person who cannot make a commitment to one person . He’ll never settle down. "His philosophy is love’em and leave’em. "
