On July 31st 2012 my holiday begun when I boarded an aircraft at Chengdu to fly to England, I flew from Chengdu to Hong Kong where I made my connection to London.

I arrived in London at 5.40 on the 1st of August to be met by my sponsor and old friend Robin I cleared Immigration at 6.30 and by 6,40 we were on our way to Edinburgh in Scotland. We arrived in Edinburgh 8 hours and 400 miles later . I stayed in a lovely Hotel called the Cumberland . That night we went into the city it was beautiful there were street performers, but it was rather cold so I had to buy some warmer clothes it was hard to find my size . My friend and I found a Chinese restaurant  and the food was just like home except for the price it was very expensive.

The next day we went back into the city centre and went to the top of Scott's Monument  which has over 200 steps I got a certificate, from the top you have a wonderful view of the whole city.  We then visited shops and I went on a bungee trampoline it was so much fun.

Next was a visit to Edinburgh Castle a very historic place in the history of Scotland. After lunch I climbed to the top of Arthur's Seat a mountain that overlooks the sea and city. I took many photos.

Then it was back in the car to drive around the coast road to North Berwick where we stayed the night . The next morning I was woken by the most beautiful sunrise at 5.30 in the morning, so after breakfast I went down onto the beach to see the rock pools and collect seashells and paddle for the first time in the sea. We went to the harbour where I fed seals fish from a pole they were very big and strong . It was exciting and the sun was shining even though it was still a little cool. from there we went to a place called St Abbs this is a bird sanctuary on the cliff tops the views were breathtaking. We visited a little town called Eyemouth it was lovely. I wrote my name in the sand.

It was then onto Berwick upon Tweed  this is where we had to wait to go to Holy Island , the reason we had to wait was because the island is cut off from the sea when the tide comes in and you have to drive across a causeway. We visited the ruins of the Abbey and saw a statue of St Jude people have been coming here on pilgrimages for 1300 years and we saw the Castle that protected the Islands since the 4th century.we stayed in Berwick that night .

The following morning it was off to see some friends Jean and Steven who have just adopted two beautiful children Faith a 2 year old girl and her 5 year old brother Brett.

they live in a town called Sedgefield. we stayed with them and we visited a big park, on the Sunday Jean invited me to go to church with her. It was an experience I will never forget . After having a traditional roast lunch we went to see some waterfalls in the Pennines a range of mountains that run down the middle of England, even though it rained it was a beautiful site to see.

We stayed the night then drove down to my friends home in Great Yarmouth which is on the East coast of England. This took us 6 and a half hours.

This town has miles of beaches of golden sand the moment I saw the sea I wanted to go in so I had to buy a costume. I went in right up to my neck it was wonderful I was having so much fun. I went on a trampoline on the beach but I just jumped up and down I dare not turn over and do the things others were doing as this was my first encounter on one . I was then introduced to some young people Rebbecca and her sister Francesca and their boyfriends Danny and Josh . We arranged to go out with them the next day to go swimming at Potters leisure park I went swimming went in a sauna ,steam room and hot tub all of these were things I had never done, after lunch we visited Somerleyton Hall and old stately home owned by Lord Somerleyton one of the Queens relatives. we toured the gardens and went in a maze. My friend booked for me to go horse riding the next day I have never been on a horse before from the stables we rode down to the beach at a village called Hopton another first for me. That evening we went to see the fireworks and show on Great Yarmouth seafront is was like nothing I had seen before. I was having the time of my life.

The next day we met the girls and went to see Cambridge the famous University City.  I had seen so many different people from every country in the world and street performers. There are many Chinese students studying in Cambridge so we found a Chinese restaurant for lunch. After lunch we took out a punt this is a boat you have to propel along with a long pole pushed into the water from a platform at the back of the boat, this river takes you past all the Universities what a beautiful day it was. I had my ears pierced at shop in Cambridge.

The excitement of this holiday was still getting better as next day we went on the broads in a day boat I steered the boat up many rivers to Barton Broad and to a place called Hickling

There are many broads in Norfolk where I was staying. We visited quaint places like Horning,  Hoveton, Wroxham and Stalham. That evening we went for a walk along the seafront.

It is Saturday already of the second week time seems to fly, today we visited Great Yarmouth market and I ate chips from the stalls on the market. The stall we went to the man's name was Robin he was such a fun loving character. I was enjoying my time here immensely. We then went and got a birthday cake with my photo on for Sunday when we were going round Tony and Lesley's for a dinner cooked by Robin.  That evening we went out to the Britannia pier with Rebbecca and Danny for a drink.

Robin and his friends arranged a late birthday celebration for me and he cooked Chinese food and I met Jayden the sweetest little boy a person could hope to meet. While things were being prepared I went swimming again with Andrea, Hailey and Jayden, at another swimming pool. I had a delicious meal and a great time, people were so nice to me.

Today we went window shopping and I bought presents for my mother and cousin on Regent road in Great Yarmouth and went to visit Ranworth Broad one of the prettiest broads in Norfolk.

The next day was a lazy day while my friend Robin prepared his documents to go down to London to get his visa for China.

We drove down to a station outside of London and traveled into London on the underground to the Chinese Embassy to be told they had moved it and that you had to get an appointment to get the visa so we had to find an Internet cafe in London to do this. We made one for Monday the 20th of August so we drove back to Great Yarmouth and went out that night to watch the show and fireworks again which are held every Wednesday on Great Yarmouth seafront it was really fun.

Thursday we visited the city of Norwich and toured the Castle Museum and Cathedral where I bought more gifts for my family. I was learning all the time about British culture and history. How people relax in their lunchtimes getting takeaway meals and lying on the grass in the sun every spare minute they have. I bought a hair dye and dyed my hair purple it turned out really well, my friend had shown me many new experiences about western life.

Today is the hottest day of all and we are going to picnic on the beach with Andrea, Hailey and Jayden. But when we arrived at the beach there were so many people we could not find them. This did not deter me from going into the sea and having fun I had laughed so much . It was so incredible the hours just past so quickly. We drove from the beach to Tony's still in our costumes and changed back into our clothes there. I laid on their front lawn in the sun playing with Jayden until it was time to go home. That evening we went to a birthday party in a village called Belton it was Robins friend Marks birthday and they had invited us over . I met so many kind people .

It is Saturday again only two days left before having to go down to London to the embassy again to keep the appointment for the visa . Everyday I have seen something new now today was the time to say our goodbyes as I have to prepare to pack because we will be busy for the rest of the days . Tony and Lesley invited and  booked  for us a farewell dinner for Monday night at a nice restaurant, for when we get back from processing the visa.

The last two days of my holiday were going to be spent seeing  the sights in London. To get there we had to catch a coach  Tuesday morning we had returned the car so Tony dropped us off at the coach stop and we said our goodbyes to him. We arrived in the afternoon and made our way to the hotel that evening we went to Buckingham Palace and saw the Mall we then found a Chinese restaurant and had some lovely food . An early night we were going to be busy tomorrow.

I didn't really like the underground so we decided to travel around by bus it was cheaper and much better . We went to the Tower of London this is steeped in the history of Britain inside part of  it is called the Bloody tower where Henry the Eighth had his wives beheaded for not giving him a son he had seven wives, his last wife finally producing a son and heir to the throne of England. The Crown jewels are kept in a big vault there so many priceless Jewels and gold crowns and articles used by the British Kings and Queens over the centuries. We then walked a short distance and toured London's Tower Bridge a famous landmark of London. So many different cultures and people from around the world. After lunch we then when to a modern landmark of London it is called the Eye of London it is a big wheel where you go on and see the whole of London from the top. It is one of the tallest in the world. from here you got spectacular views of the Houses of Parliament , Big Ben the famous clock. The monument where the great fire of London started in 1666 which wiped out most of London starting in a street called Pudding Lane. Exhausted it was back to the hotel as tomorrow was my last day .

Our flight to China did not leave till 22.20 so we visited Madame Tussaud's the famous waxworks and attraction. I took lots of photos, after leaving there we made our way to Baker Street where the famous English detective Sherlock Holmes lived . We saw Hyde Park where there is speakers corner where people can stand and have there say about anything they wish to talk about . We could not leave London without seeing China Town  a part of China in the middle of London all the signs in Chinese and English the shops selling all the things I could get back home. Back to the hotel to pick up our cases and make our way to the airport my holiday was coming to an end and I would finally be coming home after having a holiday I will never forget my whole life . I had spent three weeks just speaking and listening to English. We have traveled over 2500 miles around England and Scotland I have seen so many beautiful sites . I may never get an opportunity like this in my life time again. It has made me aware that I am lucky to have good friends and I have made many more in England and I feel this is what has made this a holiday of a life time
