Oct 3th, I sponsored a gathering with two friends of mine, Zhu Bin and Liu Lang in Chun Xi Pedestrian Road in Cheng Du. With lunch finished and surfeit of stomach, one of them proposed to venture into the ghost route.
Haunted by the childhood ghost stories, fear stole over my head and shudder reigned for a while. In a collected effort to seem to be brave, I followed them to the entrance, expecting the next minutes safe and sound.
Darkness dominated anything visible the instant we stepped in. A slight feeling of light-headedness found its way through my brain as I sensed someone ghostly feet ahead of me gazing straight into my eyes grinning with blood thirst. I directed my sight sideways only to be taken aback by glimpsing a corpse like man placing his cold hands upon my shoulder. Another feeling of terror made me scream out loud and every pore of mine contracted tight. With two of my friends making the way ahead, I would think I was the safest, but the next scene proved me wrong. Someone inches behind me howled after having detecting human intruders and stalked along at our paces. My resistence was on the verge of breaking down albeit my consciousness ceaselessly reminded me these were just a game. Not a minute was permitted to rest as something like a hand grasped my feet with feeble might, seeming to be begging for a piece of meat or a drip of blood. My face turned pale as if numerous reptiles creeping and crawling on my skin and I knew right away my blood would be drained away if I delayed even a second to set me free. I kicked away his hand and runned, eyes closing and shrieking, hoping the way out would not take long. The next minute came as a hundred year, I huddled Zhu Bin closely for warmth while being terrorized into paralysis by relentless squealing of the dead.
The light pierced into the void behind the curtain as we stepped for the last meters. Ghosts' threat wore off as we got nearer. Seconds later, we backed into the mortal world and the subsequent hours would be our endless disscusion about this thrilling adventure.
