>In Lesotho about 40% of people live under the poverty line. Its birth rate is 3.14. However there is also a high death rate among adults due to HIV and poor medical treatment in this country. There are areas in Lesotho where about 50% of all women under the age of 40 are infected with HIV and don’t receive proper medical treatment. However scientists are positive that this death rate may be falling. Still “Watchmojo.com” listed Lesotho as the country with the 2nd highest death rate in the world. (Nr. 1 was the Central African Republic by the way, due to so many people dying of HIV, tuberculosis, respiratory infections, diarrhea and a lack of proper medical treatment of these diseases.)

It must be the hot Southern-German spring-sun making my mind a little sleepy today, but I don’t get the part about German refugees.
Other than that: Nice comment, Joe! Most of all I like the statement “The least we can do is look for fair trade labels when we shop for products made in the third world.” and what you say about President Donald Trump.
Back to your “refugees”: As a matter of fact I actually was going to post a comment about Burundi refugees. Oddly enough this comment even mentions Germany and Germans…”Domradio” says that due to a famine, poverty and political conflicts 300.000 people have fled Burundi as refugees. Like Germany during the economical crisis of the 1920’s this makes those who do stay very easy to be won by extremists who want to found a dictatorship.

I do. The predatory practices of some greedy businessmen in the world make the entire first world look evil. The evil should be brought to peoples attention and you are doing that.
What is being done is some places to give us (first worlders) slightly cheaper goods to buy and to give those companies much higher profits is only a tiny bit better than slavery.
I think those workers and their families blame us for it too.
The least we can do is look for fair trade labels when we shop for products made in the third world.
Trump’s “ban” is a 90 day moratorium to allow the new vetting processes to go forward. He did tell the world he was going to do it.
German refugees?

At last someone who seems to be as interested as me into these subjects like fair trade, child-laborers, least developed countries…Thanks for letting me know you appreciate what I’m doing!
----
News: “Tagesschau” says that due to US-President Trump’s anti-refugee politics many refugees – also from this country – now are stranded in Cairo (Egypt).

Well said. It’s worth looking for the “fair trade” sticker!
