The German newspaper ‘Suedwestpresse’ says that the VGH (Administrative Court of Baden-Wuerttemberg/ Germany) now decided that Somalia was a generally-speaking save country to live in. That means that in most cases Baden-Wuerttemberg now can send Somali refugees back to where they came from.

In the Roman-Catholic church of St. Bonifatius (Metzingen/ Baden-Wuerttemberg/ Germany) they spread a leaflet about the current situation in Somalia and Sudan:
>About 2 million Somalis are refugees who either live abroad or within Somalia.
>Not only the fight against al-Shabaab, but also wars between enemy clans weaken this country and destroy a lot of agricultural sources of food. Many people are malnourished in Somalia.
>In the South of Sudan about 50.000 people have been killed since 2011. Almost 2,5 million Sudanese people are refugees. Plus there is a famine in the South of Sudan.
>In both countries Roman-Catholic nuns help actively by for example teaching whole classes of pregnant or nursing women about how to take care of their born or unborn babies. They teach farmers about growing crops and even give people a seed capital so they can start building their own farm. And that’s not even all the Roman-Catholic church does in these areas…

From mid-December 2017 through March 3rd, 2018, the Ministry of Health (MoH) of Kenya reported 453 cases, including 32 laboratory-confirmed cases and 421 suspected cases, of chikungunya from Mombasa County in Kenya. This disease can cause lethal high grade fever, joint paint and life-threatening weakness.Kenya is surrounded by countries with even poorer medical health care like Somalia, Sudan, Ethiopia and Uganda. Thus we can only hope that these countries won’t be affected by this epidemic.
