‘Aktenzeichen XY’ says that in Hildesheim in Lower-Saxony, Germany a Syrian refugee saw how a lady was stabbed by what later would turn out to be her husband. It was on a street in plain daylight and yet most people just stood there doing nothing – which is understandable as they were probably under shock and direct intervention would have been too dangerous. One gentleman at least called the police and the ambulance. But realizing that the lady would be dead by the time the police could arrive a Syrian refugee passing by then attacked the attacker of this lady and chased him away. Then the Syrian refugee returned to the lady to calm her until the doctor would arrive. They now think about giving him a prize you can get in Germany for any prudent act of bravery. An interview showed that even though he was already in his early 30s when he started learning German his German still is quite well with only a slight accent.

‘Domradio’ says that to allow for visually impaired people to “see” their cathedral, the bishop of Speyer now paid an artist to build a miniature-figure of the Speyer Cathedral just small enough for an average sized person to be able to touch any part of this replica. He says he hopes there will be more replicas of landmarks made especially for visually impaired people.
