News: The Roman Catholic radio station ‘Vatican News’ says that during discussions between the government of Nicaragua, Roman-Catholic clerics from Nicaragua and the Nicaraguan opposition at least a ‘roadmap for further discussions’ was made. Plus as promised during these discussions the Nicaraguan government granted amnesty in the case of 100 convicts this week – men who were convicted for demonstrating against the government. Still the government insists that demonstrations should remain illegal and 500 further convicts who were arrested due to peacefully protesting against the government should remain in prison.

This is absolutely the worst example of business interests from America parlaying political power into using our military for commercial advantage.
Back in the 1920’s, when we started this, it was a huge scandal. The USMC General in charge, Smedley Butler, later wrote a book called “War is a Racket” about it.
The USA has committed real crimes and this was one of them, it makes me laugh when people from the ME blame us for crimes we never committed just because they hate us so much.

‘Domradio’ says that since Nicaragua’s president Ortega accused Roman-Catholic clerics to cooperate with political rebels there have been acts of violence against Roman-Catholic bishops and acts of vandalism – most likely committed by supporters of Ortega: Bishop Juan Abelardo Mata was shot in his own car, but survived, a ‘Caritas’-building got burned down to the ground, Bishop Silivo Baez got himself injured, but not gravely.

‘Domradio’ says that so far more than 350 people got killed as a result of the civil-war-like situation we currently have in Nicaragua. As everyone fears getting kidnapped or even killed even cultural or religious life isn’t possible anymore.

“Domradio” says that while there are many regions in Nicaragua that are known for violent protests against the currect government, currently Mayasa holds the highest estimated death toll – 200 people.
What caused these violent demonstrations was a way too opressive government that is accused of being a dictatorship due to opression of peaceful demonstrations and even ordinary meetings of large crowds of people.
