Hi Catcher yes you were right Mahsa is my name .thank you for your comment.some E.babay friends have asked me about this title like you, “don’t trust your eyes “is a manifold subject which can be discussed about for many hours and on different viewpoints actually categorizing them and explaining about them is difficult for me too,but I do my best to give you the hint and following this thread is on your shoulder :).
As Richard Bach said correctly :” “Don’t believe what your eyes are telling you. All they show is limitation. Look with your understanding, find out what you already know, and you’ll see the way to fly. I compeletly agree with him but here remains another question “how can we immune our mind and way of thinking from propagandas and hereditary culture that really and smoothly affects our mind and determines our way of thinking and way of seeing the world ,because most of the time they overwhelm us in a way that this is not us who are thinking we just assume “WE are thinking”.If we want to set our mind free to think clearly about everything we should not trust our eyes and ears maybe that’s why sometimes I think having television and satellite is inane . refering to books can be good but again not trustworthy.I don’t know how ages does it take and whether after a long haul of pondering over different matters can bring truth for us at last or not?.
And from religious point of view we should not trust our eyes also.such a thing is said directly in the Bible : The Word must always be our final authority. If what we see with our eyes contradicts God’s Word, we should go with the Word. If what we hear with our ears contradicts the Word, we should choose to agree with the Word. Peter was simply reminding his congregation to place the Word of God as the highest priority in their lives. Psalm 138:2 says that God has magnified His Word even above His own name! we have exactly the same thing in Koran and similar notion in Islamic theosophy which says :when you could close your material eyes then your real eyes start to work (here means your wisdom and discernment) and you can look at the world through them.I hope my answer would be enough.be happy and have a good day and night :)
