What's the BEST kind of teacher? Please help...

Hey Y'all…

What are some characteristics of a perfect teacher?  What do you look for in an English teacher?  What makes this teacher good?

Also, what are some common mistakes (or bad things) that teachers do?

Warm Regards,

John Buchanan

Thanks for your comment, Iwona B.  What does everyone else think?  If you don't want to write a lot, just choose 6 adjectives (3 positive and 3 negative).  For example:

A teacher should be "nice, smart, and fun."
A teacher should NOT be "lazy, boring, and rude."

Thanks a million,

John Buchanan

Hi Mj2008!

I 100% agree with you about a teacher loving his or her job!  This idea goes with any job really. Since I love what I do, I find it easier to stay motivated, happy and successful.  When a teacher keeps learning as well, that is a huge bonus for students.  No matter what we do, we should all keep learning.

Good luck with everything!

Hi CaN I CrY,

I think your idea can apply to both males and females (it just depends on the situation).  I had a teacher in high school who was easily angered (Mr. Jones).  I wonder what he's up to now…he's probably in some "bitter old man nursing home" (lol).

If you check out EnglishKitty, you'll find two female teachers who seem very very nice:

Sarah from New Zealand

OR Jennifer from America

Good luck with everything!
