I have been teaching English in Thailand for the past 6 years and would be happy to help. 

Some useful and interesting dicussions can be found here. One article had tips on how to learn the alphabet of a foreign language, though I wonder if the suggested method would apply to the learning of the Chinese alphabet. Another article was about the travails of an English teacher in a Thai classroom; this was quite amusing.

Thanks for the feedback.  Good point about learning the Chinese alphabet.  It would probably prove a bit trickier.
