1.  I have flown 4 hours to reach New York.

is the correct way to say this sentence.

2. I flew 4 hours to reach New York.  is correct.

When speaking both are correct and are used to express past tense of "to fly".   In writing I think it depends on how you stated your other sentences.  But I am not sure.
