I think resident means someone who lives in a place. You can say "Taiwan resident", "U.S. resident", or "New York resident." "Taiwan Resident" would mean someone who lives in Taiwan, and "Taiwanese" means someone who is a citizen of Taiwan. You can be a resident of Taiwan but not a citizen of Taiwan. Or, you can be a Taiwanese but don't live in Taiwan.

Canada

Yep ;) I think so, too :D

Taiwanese are people that are born in Taiwan or with taiwanese blood while Taiwan resident is a person who lives in Taiwan but not a Taiwanese :D
