Dave: I find, when I go to Craigslist, I wind up spending hours browsing.
Kevin: It’s a fascinating web site.
Dave: I like it because they’ve got, there’s a, there’s a site for every city, every major city around the world. And it’s everything from, you know, jobs to personal ads to people giving away stuff.
Kevin: And things for sale.
Dave: Yeah, and things for sale. So, it’s a great resource, and it’s free. It’s a grassroots community…
Kevin: Yeah.
Dave: ...which, I think, is great.
Kevin: It’s cool, and it’s become incredibly popular. I actually read an article saying that the Willamette Weekly, the local indie newspaper, has lost so much of its classified business to Craigslist.
Dave: Yeah.
Kevin: It’s interesting to see the things people are selling and, it is a really interesting web site.
Dave: I find myself looking, checking out the “Missed Connections” site.
Kevin: Ah!
Dave: ‘Oh, did anybody see me when I was walking down the street?’

Craigslist is an anomaly among web sites. Most sites earn money through advertising, which means that the web pages look too colorful and flashy. Craigslist has a very simple, text-only design. It is neatly organized and easy to use.
Whether you’re looking for an apartment in Buenos Aires or a conversation partner in Bangkok, you can find it on Craigslist. Best of all, it’s free!
