The video pictured by BBC isn't bad. In the video we can smell the tension there. There are so many policemen. But on the other hand, the video shows Tibetans are having a better and transquil life.

I consulted related comments on the video.

First the video wasn't allowed to be showed in China in public. Why? I don't know.

Second, the video was hasrshly protested by people who pro-Tibet. I think bbc faced a delimma at that time.

Why we need westerners to prove what happened in Tibet.

Are all of we Chinese lieing?

Why nowadays we care so much comments of people from other countries. It seems we need to justify ourselves by their approvals. Where is our self-confidence?

"Chinese communist is vicious. There is no human rights in China. Chinese are brainwashed. China is a dictatorial country. Communist killed people as they are pleased. Chinese are killing Tibetans."  Why should we care what they are saying if what they say isn't totally true.

Sometimes silence is god.

waxiaoku, who has said these things? have you read them yourself in Western newspapers and magazines? I have never seen anything like what you have written.

In Western countries there is a plurality of opinions – some people love China, some people hate China, some people support capitalism, some people support socialism, some people want an independent Tibet, some people think Tibet is better as a part of greater China. It seems that the Chinese media and Chinese people are focused more on what Westerners say that is critical of China than what is positive about China.

Overall, though, I have to say that the Western media is basically pro-China. Come to the USA and watch the news! Yes, there is some paranoia and bias, but there is a lot more admiration. China is big and China is strange, it is only natural for people to be a little frightened.
