My ubderstanding was always that sexual activity (including masturbation) was forbidden for unmarried people, but your post raises a couple of questions.
According to this And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts). Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, – for them, they are free from blame. But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors. it would appear that sexual activity with your own slave or captive is okay even if you are not married. Were/Are women permitted to own slaves as well? Did they have that option for sexual release?
Second, is masturbation permitted once you are married? many couples use masturbation or mutual masturbation as part of their sexual activity together. |

Alright memo Today I did my good action of being a good christian and I search for masturbation on Christianity! I found a good site with boring text… I was brave and I read it all and i toook of what was more important:
<! Masturbation: A Sin for Christians?
The Scripture is strangely silent about this universal issue, while not shy about all sorts of other sexual situations and perversions… in great detail concerning sex with animals, etc. Yet the bible says nothing about masturbation. This is odd, don't you think? Some, mistakenly, cite Onan in Gen 38:9 as suggesting that masturbation is a sin. In fact, "onanism" has become a synonym for masturbation. But this is obviously an error, and a rather daft one at that. We know what Onan did, for it is spelled out for us in lurid detail; and we know why it was a sin: he was maliciously using and cheating Tamar in way that was wrong. In any case, what Onan was doing was certainly not masturbating, and you have to be pretty dimwitted to miss this. In fact, there is no place in scripture where masturbation is even mentioned, much less forbidden. This is a very odd situation since it is so common a human experience, and given that scripture speaks of other sexual sins (some fairly perverse and rare) without any shyness at all. Since scripture does not forbid masturbation directly, neither should Christians in general. "Nothing beyond what is written" in terms of how we should help lead others to the Lord is the rule. To be sure, it is clear from Scripture that illicit sexual fantasies are forbidden, and this is a significant issue with masturbation. Matt 5:28-29 (NIV) [Jesus:] "But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell." But what if no illicit fantasies are included in masturbation? Is the act then sinful? By scripture, there is nothing to indicate that it is.
I hope this is clear.

emm I dont know the hell that stupid stuff appeared in my previous post! BTW Health Benefits for Men Research summarized in a 2007 article in Sexual and Relationship Therapy found that masturbation may help men by: — Improving his immune system’s functioning. — Building his resistance to prostate gland infection. — Making for a healthier prostate. Australian researchers have reported that frequent masturbation may lower a man’s risk of developing prostate cancer. A survey of men found the more frequently a man masturbates between the ages of 20 and 50, the less likely they are to get prostate cancer. In fact, those who masturbated more than five times a week were one-third less likely to develop prostate cancer. Health Benefits for Females When it comes to a woman’s health, self-pleasuring serves her well by: — Building her resistance to yeast infections. — Combating pre-menstrual tension and other physical conditions associated with their menstrual cycles, like cramps. — Relieving painful menstruation by increasing blood flow to the pelvic region. This will also reduce pelvic cramping and related backaches. — Relieving chronic back pain and increasing her threshold for pain. Health Benefits for Both Sexes Masturbation rewards both men and women because it’s: — The safest kind of sex, keeping you free of sexually transmitted infections. — A great form of stress relief. — A mood booster in releasing endorphins. — A natural sleep sedative. — A mechanism for building stronger pelvic floor muscles, which can lead to better sex. — A natural energetic pick-me-up. As Sigmund Freud once remarked at the Vienna Psycho-Analytical Society, “the subject of masturbation is quite inexhaustible.” While he wasn’t getting at the benefits (Freud saw self-pleasuring as harmful to the genitals and one’s psychosexual and moral development), the same can be said in how it can improve one’s sexual relationship. |

Is masturbation allowed in Islam? Please be advised that my answer supporting masturbation only reflects my personal opinion. The list of the Islamic links below show from their Islamic resources and interpretations that masturbation is not allowed. But however, more was added below that showed from the same Islamic resources and interpretations that masturbation is allowed.
Semen and orgasm, which are generated from either masturbation or sexual intercourse are a must for the body to exert. It is beyond our human-control to prevent sexual desires from rising within us, especially in the pornified West! GOD Almighty created semen to be ejaculated from the human body while experiencing a sexual experience. No human can hold his/her semen in their body. Therefore, it is safe to use masturbation as a shield to protect you from the act of zina (fornication) until you get married. But please try to avoid it as much as possible! Masturbation is not a free license for getting addicted to lust and pornography. To me, and the way I see masturbation is this: It is Allah Almighty's Grace upon those who are too desperate, AGAIN, TOO DESPERATE, to have sex to vent out the sexual frustration and the unbearable temptation that they might have in them. That's all I am saying. I am not in anyway, shape or form saying that lust and pornography are allowed in Islam. But since we're all weak humans, and since masturbation is a mean to vent out our sexual frustrations, especially when we're single and desperate, then limited masturbation might be allowed, especially in this (morally speaking) pornified hell that we live in here – called the West, where everything is literally too sexual and sexually arousing.
