Summer is the time for parties. Every good party must have good music. The best way to have great music at a party is to hire a DJ.
Joe works at Ebaby!, but he also DJ’s at parties around town. He likes to play a wide variety of music when he DJ’s. Listen to him tell Nedra about the party he DJ’d last week.

Nedra

Joe

Nedra: I heard that you went and DJ’d, uh, last Tuesday night.

Joe: Yes I did Nedra. There was a party that I had DJ’d in downtown Portland and it was for the eve of Fourth of July.

Nedra: And you did it for a friend?

Joe: Yeah the guy who threw the party is a friend of mine. There was three other DJ’s besides myself that DJ’d the party.

Nedra: What kind of music were you guys playin’?

Joe: Oh, we played a variety of, of music – everything from old school music… I played a little bit of eighties music and then I also played some new school music as well.

Nedra: Well did you play any Janet Jackson? That kind of stuff? I know she’s really popular right now?

Joe: Yeah she is. In fact, I did play Janet Jackson. I played her newest song off her most recent album and everybody went crazy.

The crowd went nuts when I played Janet Jackson.

Nedra: Yeah, I think her song that one that you probably played is like on the top ten list at least.

Joe: Yeah, you’re right. That song is real popular and I saw that when I played the song at the party and I could see everybody’s reaction. They started freaking out.

Janet Jackson is very popular right now. In fact, she just started a world tour last Saturday and the first show was in Portland! Thousands of people went to see her show so they could hear the songs from her new album.
Joe played a Janet Jackson song when he was DJ’ing and the crowd loved it. They got very excited about hearing “All for You” which was the #1 song in America a few weeks ago.
