Sometimes, stars that you hear a lot about in the news just seem to disappear. You don’t hear from them for a long time.
Steph and Derek are talking about a famous musician who has done that recently.

Dialog

Derek

Steph: You know who I haven’t heard about in a long time?

Derek: Who haven’t you heard about?

Steph: Courtney Love.

Derek: Ahh. Ya know, I guess the last thing I heard from her was, uh, she was in the news about going into rehab.

Steph: Oh, yeah. That’s true. Yeah. I mean, she seems to pop up in the newspaper or tabloids, ya know, every once in a while after having done something terrible.

Derek: Yeah. It’s usually right around the time where she’s gonna release something.

Steph: That’s kind of convenient isn’t it?

Derek: Yeah. Like, do you know of anything recently?

Steph: Ya know, as a matter of fact. I did read something about her being in a soundtrack recently.

Derek: Really? For what movie?

Steph: It was a movie called Adam and Steve. It’s about these two guys in New York.

Derek: Adam and Steve in New York. Well, it might be kind of interesting. I mean, her music’s all right.

Steph: Yeah, it is. I mean you never know. It seems like when she does release something, it’s actually pretty good. It’s just her personal life that’s going down the tube.

Derek: So we won’t pay attention to that. We’ll just listen to the music.

Steph: That’s right. Ok.

Derek: Sounds good.

Courtney Love pretty much started her career in the limelight. She really got famous after her husband, Kurt Cobain, the leader of the band Nirvana, committed suicide.
Not that she was only famous because of her husband. She has a lot of talent in her own right and her band, Hole, happened to start doing very well at that time.
She stayed in the charts and in the news for a number of years and then just kind of fell off the radar.
