Steph

Em:  Hey Steph. Did you go to that movie on Friday?

Steph:  Oh my god. I totally flaked out on going.

Em:  Why?

Steph:  Well, I just got caught up doing some stuff at home. And plus you wanted to see it again too anyway, didn’t you?

Em:  I totally did. It’s such a great movie. You have to go see it.

Steph:  What’s it about? Can you tell me what it’s about without giving it away?

Em:  Mmm. I’ll try. OK. So, it’s called Me and You and Everyone We Know. The director and writer is Miranda July. Have you ever heard of her?

Steph:  No.

Em:  She is awesome. She is this female artist who used to live in Portland, who actually got her start in Portland, doing live performances and writing. And now she’s directed this major film. It got huge props at the _Cannes Film Festival. And it’s all about these love relationships, all kinds of different love – like love between people our age, children and parents, love with older people. And it’s beautifully shot. And there’s Portland references in there too.

Steph:  Wow. I always love a good Portland reference.

Em:  Even though it’s shot in LA. But there’s a few. There’s like three or four. You should go and see if you can find them.

Steph:  Ok.

Em:  Ok.
