Kayla: So, Pirates of the Carribbean 2 is coming out. I’m pretty excited for it actually. I really liked the first one.
Dave: I liked the first one a lot, more than I thought I would. I thought it was going to be a hokey, kind of children’s pirate movie.
Kayla: Yeah, my friend dragged me there and I was like, “Okay, whatever. We’ll watch the movie.” But I really liked it, and I’ve seen it a bunch since then, too.
Dave: Yeah.
Kayla: I’ve watched it a lot.
Dave: Well, that’s what I feel. It’s one of these movies that you can watch over and over again.
Kayla: Oh yeah.
Dave: And it doesn’t get old. So, the second one’s coming out, um.
Kayla: Sounds like they set up the plot pretty well for the second one.
Dave: Yeah, so what is it? Jack has got to find his way out of debt or he’s doomed to eternal damnation.

In Pirates of the Caribbean 2, Captain Jack Sparrow must repay a debt owed to the ghost of Davy Jones. In the movie, Davy Jones is the captain of “The Flying Dutchman,” an eerie ghost ship.
Davy Jones is the name sailors gave to the evil spirit of the seas. According to sailor lore, people who drown in the sea go to “Davy Jones’ locker.”
“The Flying Dutchman” is a legendary ghost ship that is doomed for eternity to sail the seven seas. There are many stories about “The Flying Dutchman.” One popular story is that the crew of the ship became infected with a terrible disease. They couldn’t bring their shp to land because they didn’t want to infect other people, so they were doomed to sail the seas forever.
