Have you ever been out with a friend, someone you see all the time and never thought of dating, and suddenly that person looks really good to you? You never noticed it before, but now that you think about it, your friend is hot. And you’re already friends so you know you get along. You start to wonder: is my friend attracted to me too? What if we had a relationship together?

Amanda asks her friend Mason what he does when he has a crush on a friend. What do you think is really on Amanda’s mind? Why is she asking Mason about this?

Dialog

Amanda

Mason

Amanda: Mason?

Mason: Um-hm.

Amanda: Have you ever had a crush on a friend?

Mason: Tons!

Amanda: And what do you do about it?

Mason: Uh…

Amanda: Do you take action?

Mason: Sometimes. Little bit of column A, a little bit of column B.

Amanda: So what are some of the factors that determine whether or not you share your crush or just keep it bottled inside and cry at home in the corner?

Mason: Well one, it depends on how sober I am at the time. A lot. Two, sometimes it just feels like there’s a moment there and you gotta make a play. Sometimes it just kind of stays in the background forever.

Amanda: Do you think that you have to pick up on some vibe from them to share it with them? Or, do you think that when you have a crush you just share it with the world, get it off your back…

Mason: No.

Amanda: ...move on with your life. Now she knows.

Mason: No. Not in general. It’s not just a like…It’s not like a résumé or something. It’s not like, “Hey, you know what I did today? I had a crush on you.” It’s not like, “I picked up a new CD at Target.” No.

Amanda: I think that it could be that way. I think that it’s kind of cool to share that feeling with anyone.

Mason: Well that’s because you want to have tabs on everybody.

Amanda: Just…why not let them know, so that it’s in their court and they can do whatever they want? Why not let them know?

Mason: What if they don’t like me anymore?

Amanda: Then you know they don’t like you. Then it’s done. You move on. Right?

Discussion

Mason says that he has had crushes on a lot of his friends, and sometimes he acts on those crushes and sometimes he doesn’t. Naturally, if he’s drunk, he’s more inclined to act on the crush than if he’s sober.

He also says that sometimes there is a moment that seems like the perfect time to make a move. But other times, he never does anything about his crush.

Amanda asks if Mason would ever tell a friend he has a crush on her just to get it off his chest. He says he doesn’t think that’s a very good idea because you don’t know if your friend feels the same way.

Have you ever had a crush on a friend? Do you think that Amanda is secretly trying to tell Mason that she has a crush on him?

How are you doing ?

Alot of my Ebaby Friends and users write their own comments on it.And it seems to be good that by the using this great website, We have a plateform to share our ideas as well as increase our abiliy to write,to understand.

Well, Why dont you guyz think about it? that ! Friend ship starts with the matching of feeling both persons, Once it starts then day by day their understand to each other in a very easy way. After a spending some time, both partner wether they are girlfriend or boyfriend, male friends or female friends! They feel that wht my partner wants now ? And later wht will would he/she wants ?

So, at the end i think friendship based on feelings, if you have a friend who knows you very well then u dont have to show your crush openly because if u have crush your friend he/she automatically come to know about your feelings….....

This is a reall experiments….....

I've never been in a crush b4,

But I think the best way to handle a crush is like this:You can just say it as a joke to him or her and see the reaction.

Or just make it a discussion of some sort while you really know your intention.

Try not to kill the Elephant very fast but bit by bit you will win him/her.

I think when I first started working I did have a crush on this guy at work. We were quite close but I never had the guts to tell him because I did not want to ruin our friendship. Besides, I was too afraid since he himself never voiced out how much he cared about me.

Another issue cropped up in my mind was that we were of different race and religion and the impact it would make on both of our families. Finally, I kept silent and he never expressed either.

Later on, after we both got married I found out that actually he really did like me more than a friend.

May be we weren't meant to be together.

Hi Friends, As I think Love is a 2 way road ,which before you want to declare it when you crush on someone ,you could feel it in bottom of your heart and can expect some of your friend reaction. Also I believe don't do anything until you are sure that you know your friend quite well and it's time to express you feeling and at last if he or she don't like you ,don't waste your time …

And about Amanda I think she is a clever enough to find out his friends feeling about her by discussing this subject ;)
