Chad: Yeah, I saw you on court the other day, the basketball court. It seemed like you were really taking it to your man.
Miguel: Yeah, well, I was mad at that guy. He was wailing on me all afternoon so it was, like, when I got a chance I tried to score on him as often as I could.
Chad: Do you like to use the court to take out your aggression, or, how do you play?
Miguel: Well, it’s partly aggression and it’s part, like, meditation. You know, like, I like just being out there and not thinking about anything else other than basketball.
Chad: Sure. Now what do you do when you got a guy who’s just a lot bigger? A lot, lot stronger? How do you play that guy?
Miguel: Well the good thing about that is that I don’t meet too many guys who are a lot bigger than me. When one of those people shows up, um, I don’t know. I guess it’s a skill thing. You have to be smarter than them.
Chad: Yeah. Is your game more, like, deep in the key or do you like to take it out and take some finesse shots?
Miguel: The bad part about that is that I’m so tall that most people think I’m supposed to play deep in the key but I’d rather play outside. But, you know, it doesn’t matter. I’ll do either thing.
Chad: Yeah. From what I saw it looked like you had a pretty smooth stroke from about ten feet.
Miguel: Well, some days I do. Other days I can’t make a thing but, um, it’s weird how that can change from game to game and day to day.

Discussion
From the conversation, you should be able to tell that Miguel has a lot of experience playing basketball. Chad asks him questions about the game and how he likes to play.
You can also see that Miguel is humble about his skills. This isn’t always true. Many athletes think they are better than they really are. This can be frustrating when playing against them, but it feels nice when you beat them.
