Migs

John:  Dude, you missed a great game this weekend.

Migs:  I listened to it on the radio. It didn’t sound that exciting.

John:  Yeah, you’re right. It actually wasn’t that good. We couldn’t score in the first half.

Migs:  What was wrong with those guys? Was it the rain?

John:  I don’t think it was the rain, I think it was just nerves. You know, it’s the first game of the season and there’s a packed house watching them…

Migs:  Yeah, I bet the fans were pretty stoked. Were they going crazy?

John:  They were going crazy before the game, and at kickoff, but once we started playing and we couldn’t score, everyone kinda was sitting there wondering why they were sitting out in the cold, wet and rain.

Migs:  Yeah, I would have been bummin’. Did you, uh, bring any food with you?

John:  No, they have that new big center outside where you can go and drink beer and have all the food you want, so… It was cool, a lot of my friends were there and stuff. We’ll have to do it next time.

Discussion

This is very casual conversation between John and Migs. John had just come back from the game and wanted to tell Migs about it. Football is very popular here in America. Many people enjoy professional leagues, but to many others, college is more exciting. Professionals play for money. But in college, teams play with their hearts for pride. This makes the games more exciting. After graduating, many people return to their old universities, like John did, to watch the games. Do you like football? Would you rather watch another sport? Come to the “Life Goes On” message board and tell everyone about it! Until next week, —John Row3” src=”../../Test/newhome1/shim.gif” width=”1” height=”57” border=”0”>
