I would like you to know that there are 12 patterns in the tenses that you have to master by hard. This is the base of the English Language especially for foreigners learning English as a second or third language.

You must think of the structure in English and not compare it with your own mother tongue.

Have it in a table form :

PRESENT	PAST	FUTURE
1. Present Simple	5. Past Simple	9. Future Simple
Walks (singular)	Walked (regular verb)	Shall / will walk
(He, She, It)	Ran(irregular verb)
Walk (plural)
(I, We, You, They)	singular and plural-same	singular and plural - same


2. Present Continuous	6. Past Continuous	10. Future Continuous
Is walking (singular)	Was walking (singular)	Will be walking
(He, She, It)
Are walking (plural)	Were walking (plural)	Singular and plural - same
(We, They, You)
I am walking. (special case)	I was walking	I will be walking


3. Present Perfect	7. Past Perfect	11. Future Perfect
Has walked (singular)	Had walked	Will have walked
(He, She, It)
Have walked (plural)	Singular and plural - same	Singular and plural - same
(We, They, You)


4. Present Perfect Continuous	8. Past Perfect Continuous	12. Future Perfect Continuous
Has been walking (singular)	Had been walking	Will / shall have been walking
(He, She, It)
Have been walking (plural)	Singular and plural - same	Singular and plural - same
(We, They, You)

Try putting in the verb in these sentences for easy practice.

Jim___________to school.
Jim and Mary … to school.
The boy………. to school.
The boys…..,,,,, to school.

Note: You must also know your irregular verbs by hard and use the correct pronoun in the tenses.
