John: I had the best time in L.A.!
Beth: Nice! What did you do there John?
John: I went to Santa Monica, Venice Beach and Beverly Hills.
Beth: That sounds fun. What was it like?
John: Well Venice Beach was great for people watching, but Beverly Hills was cool cause it’s so posh.
Beth: Is everyone really famous and beautiful and sun-tanned?
John: There were a lot of people like that, and I did see that one actress Sela Ward! It was pretty cool!
Beth: Nice! Where did you see her?
John: She was in a restaurant in Beverly Hills! I was keeping my eyes open for other celebrities, but I didn’t see any.
Beth: Well, at least you had one star-sighting!
John: Yeah… Next time I’m hoping for a few more!

John got to see several fun places in L.A. on his trip! He liked Venice Beach and Beverly Hills for different reasons, but it sounds like he had a good time wherever he went on his trip.
When Beth asked John if all of the people were beautiful and famous, it tells you that Beth has some preconceived ideas about Los Angeles. Her ideas about L.A. are called stereotypes. Do you think John shares some of the same opinions of Los Angeles that Beth does?
I hope you have a wonderful week friends!
