homonyms and homophones

Lesson

Words which have the same sound but are different meaning are called homnyms. Sometimes, the spelling may also be the same. When the spelling is different, the words may also be known as homophones. Let us look us some examples. air and heir, bail and bale, check cheque and gait gate etc...

homonyms are words that have the same spelling or the same pronunciation but they differ in meaning as you marked .

 in this case i would like to add some new information which is that there are some words in engish have multiple meaning . foe example word bright have two meaning 

1..shining

2. clever

and so on 

 and many others such mouth , cup , leader.

these words are called polysemy
