Steph

Senta

Steph:  I was thinking about pet peeves the other day. Do you have any pet peeves?

Senta:  Yeah, ya know, I really hate when people are just talking on their cell phones. And they’re talking in their private conversations about what they did with their boyfriend last night and they just keep talking even though there’s 50 people sitting around them. That’s just crazy.

Steph:  I know. I once was on the bus when I heard this guy talking about his stock options and how much money he had in the bank. And I was like hey, ya know, can I talk to your investment counselor too?

Senta:  Did you then go to the stock market? Invest some too?

Steph:  No. I didn’t. Not that time. But the next time for sure! You know what really gets on my nerves? When people take off their shirt in public.

Senta:  Really? But if they look good…

Steph:  Well if they look good that’s a whole other issue.

Senta:  Ya see, I don’t mind, like. I don’t like the girls, or even the guys that wear the really short shirts and they have really too much and it’s all hanging out. And then I see their gut. I feel like, ya know, if you have a Janet Jackson kind of lookin’ stomach maybe you can get away with it. But otherwise cover it.

Steph:  Definitely cover it. Ya know there’s a word for that stuff that sticks out under your shirt.

Senta:  What do they call that?

Steph:  They call it GLH – girl love handles.

Senta:  How pretty!

Discussion

I was at a concert the other night, watching a band play, and there was a guy there talking so loudly to his friend that you could hear him better than you could hear the music. When the singer announced his next song, an audience-member screamed very loudly “WHAT DID YOU SAY? I CAN’T HEAR YOU”. Clearly, her pet peeve is when people talk at concerts. Have you thought about what kinds of things really bug you?
