Jumping out of a plane or kayaking over a waterfall may not be your idea of a fun way to pass the time. But that doesn’t necessarily mean you like to play it safe.

Introducing yourself to someone you don’t know, calling up that girl or guy you’ve had a crush on for years, or applying for a new job are all different ways of taking risks. Even trying to learn English can be risky! You might not succeed right away, but if you never take any risks you’ll probably miss out on a lot of cool experiences.

Find out if Beren and Jeff prefer to take risks or play it safe.

Jeff:  Hey Beren, are you much of a risk taker?

Beren:  I don’t know, what do you consider risky? Like bungee jumping, skydiving? Do you consider that risky? Because if that’s what you mean then I definitely play it safe. I don’t take many risks.

Jeff:  Never gotten extreme?

Beren:  No. I would say the riskiest thing I’ve done, or at least done recently, is gone skateboarding early in the morning when I had no business being on a skateboard without health insurance. That’s pretty risky.

Jeff:  That’s a bummer. I don’t know. Near where I grew up. there was a river with a lot of bridges on it. We’d always go jumping off of rocks and bridges.

Beren:  Woah, that’s pretty risky. Do you think it’s better to take risks or play it safe?

Jeff:  It depends. I think as I get older I’ve become more conservative.

Beren:  Me too.

Jeff:  My wild teen years are over.

Beren doesn’t take a lot of risks. She has never done anything really extreme like bungee-jumping or skydiving. The biggest risk she ever took was skateboarding late at night. It sounds like she prefers to play it safe.

Jeff is a bit more of a risk-taker than Beren. When he was younger, he liked to jump off tall rocks and bridges into a river near his house. But now that he’s older, he has become less of a risk-taker. Beren agrees that when it comes to taking risks, she has become more conservative as she’s gotten older.

Do you like to take risks, or do you prefer to play it safe? What is the biggest risk you have ever taken?

no risk's  mean that " we'r in paradise" i think.

i have convection that taking risk's  makes  human being stronger and protect him from all risk's & anger of nature like hurricanes , earthquakes , pandemic , and contributes in devloping the civilization somehow..

creation way's of risks allow us to descover more things about our earth and cosmos.

I guess I'm a risk-taker. I just like to try new things, activities and get new experience. Skydiving, water diving, travelling to the new places, even muai thai fightings or just reading lectures to the students all of this things are risky in some way and you have to make up your mind to do them. But if you are brave and make a decision to take a risk it makes your life brighter and more interesting. The last big risk I have taken this summer I guess was my car trip to the black sea. Nearly 3000 km from the place I'm livingCool

But risk is risk. So it's very important to be well trained to take it and be prepaired to the different situations. In the year I tried skydiving one girl died 'cause her parachute didn't open and she didn't manage to open the spare one.

Well, actually I think I've never taken big risks. But I do like to take small risks, as they make life a bit more thrilling. So, I don't like to play it safe. For example,I have recently started to rollerblade, and I find it to be pretty risky. I mean, it's so easy to fall down and hurt yourself! Anyway, as I'm getting old, just hope not to become too much conservative! ;)

The biggest risk that i have ever taken was that i and a few friends of mine went boating one day, we have gone really way far into the sea that we could barely see the beech. As i was not really good at swimming i was just sitting in the boat while all of my friends were swimming, in the middle  they came up to me and said that it was really funny and asked me to come, then i have gotten extreme and jumped into the sea. In the beginning i was swimming like a real swimmer, they took me for a good swimmer, and just ignored me and they all swam away from me, but i could not swim for long, i was almost drowned when i called my friends to rescue me. then they came and rescued me. That was really a horrifyinh experience and a great risk.

I registered to join the paratroopers, but I flunked the physical examination. Then that served as motivation for me to practice Tae Kwan Do. Anyway I used to fight the war. That was more than just risk! The war that robbed of millions of lives in Vietnam.

when i was younger  i was take some risks, the one of these is that using bike without use my hands. if you doing that in safe road it is not take risk but if you doing that in the ramp and bus coming behind you that makes it risky. when you do wrong thing while doing that i dont want to think what will be happen. Off course i can't do that at now.
