Chocolate chip cookies. Candy. Cake and ice cream. If you’re not drooling yet, you must not have a sweet tooth.

The US seems to be a nation of sweet lovers. Americans consume about 142 pounds of sugar per year, compared with just 8.3 pounds of broccoli! It sounds like many of us aren’t listening to our moms’ advice to eat our vegetables.

Ella doesn’t really have a sweet tooth. But Amy craves sugary foods. Hear them talk about their sweet-eating habits.

Amy:  Oh man, I should not have had that entire package of cookies. I have such a stomach ache.

Ella:  For me, that’s kind of a weird craving. I’m just not very addicted to sweets. It’s never been a big deal for me.

Amy:  Really? I wish I could say the same. Sugar is definitely the thing I crave more than anything else. Salty foods, you know, I don’t care about. But I just love sweets. I’m addicted to them.

Ella:  What do you think it would take to make you just give them up?

Amy:  I don’t know, I mean, if I…You know, I do other things to kinda keep my weight under control, and like…and be pretty healthy. Like I exercise and I try to eat well in other ways. Definitely if it ended up creating obvious help problems, or if I gained a lot of weight or something, I guess I would definitely try to give it up. But it would be really hard for me.

Ella:  In my field of work we see all kinds of problems linked to sugar.

Amy:  I know, I know it can cause so many problems. And Americans especially eat so much sugar. You know, we just love our pie, and…

Ella:  Pop.

Amy:  Yeah, our pop. I don’t drink pop, so that’s one thing that I have going for me. But like, cookies, chocolate, ice cream. Oh gosh, I love it all.

Amy ate too many cookies, and now she has a stomach ache. Ella says she doesn’t understand why some people crave sweets so much. She doesn’t have much of a sweet tooth.

Amy loves sweets and doesn’t want to give them up, but she tries to be healthy in other ways. She says that if sweets started to cause health problems for her or if she gained a lot of weight, she would have to stop eating them. But it wouldn’t be easy.

Do you love sweets? What foods do you crave?

I do love sweets. I crave chocolate and ice-creams. However, it is a pity that I can consume only a small quantity of sweets. I often find it not tasty anymore after consuming a certain amount.

But when look at the other side, I also find myself lucky when my desire for sweets is naturally limited. Since excess sugar in our daily diet could cause quite a lot of problems such as: diabetes, weight gain, high bad cholesterol while lowering that of the healthy constituent, weakness and fatigue, imbalance in the sex hormones, osteoporosis or weaken of the bones.

Since refined white sugar has almost zero nutritional value, in order to get sugar, I get my nutrients from natural sources by switching to fruits and fresh juices instead of canned punches. I also strike to maintain a balance between the calories consumed and calories burnt by making exercise a part of my daily routine to stay fit and healthy.

Sometimes I visit a nice cafe when going to the office. In that cafe one can give a coffee with a dessert for particular amount of money, but one can always choose what kind of a dessert he prefers. Every time when I was there I took a puff pastry with fruits, but once I chose an éclair. It was much tastier, than a puff pastry! I even upset that I never took the eclair before =)

I think I have a little sweet tooth, because sometimes I crave something sweet, but I can't consume a lot if this kind of food, hence I am not afraid to get a stomach ache.

Not  tobe like them, I have both sweet tooth and salt tooth. I have awared of the bad effects, caused by the sweet food, so i eat under my control. I try my best to eat less sweet and light salty food to keep my body fit. If you are addited to the sweet, try to reduce amount day by day. Stay healthy!

I don´t think I have a sweet tooth. Long time ago as a kid I used to crave sugary foods like ice cream and chocolate but as I got older I started to take a liking for salty food. I hear sugar can do your health all types of damage so I´m glad I´ve backed away from sugary food.

I think that is important  to control the intake of sugar  in any form, candies, cakes , ice cream , and should the crave for them been   so strong that  we can not avoid  overeating them, we must go to the gym to burn up the extra colories.

In the morning we must eat and drink things that do not fat us,   In the afternoon we must do the same thing.  And at night the same thing must be repeated.  It is very easy.  We have to show that we are a man up.
