Every age has its pros and cons. When you’re a teenager, you’re young and full of energy, but you still have to listen to your parents (at least some of the time). In your twenties, you have more freedom, but there are typically a lot of uncertainties in your life. By the time you reach your forties or fifties, your life has probably settled down and become more stable. But for some, that isn’t a good thing. Instead, it’s the beginning of a midlife crisis.

When you’re in midlife, you’ve lived about half of an average lifetime. And when you’re in a midlife crisis, the idea that your life is half over, surprises and frightens you. People who experience a midlife crisis worry about the fact that they are aging. In order to try to make themselves feel young again, they might do things like buy a sports car, or date someone younger than themselves. They might also decide to make a major life change, like quitting their job or selling all their belongings and moving to a new city.

Anyone can experience a midlife crisis, even famous and successful actors. Robin Williams says that he had a midlife crisis when he was 40. But now that he’s 60, his midlife crisis is over. He feels happy and comfortable with where he is and what he is doing in life.

Do you know anyone who has had a midlife crisis? What advice would you give someone who was having a midlife crisis?

Butta,  Change indeed is the only permanent thing in life .  I am from catholic background, I love Jesus Christ  and Virgen Mary  and also I have been  inspired by  Oriental religions  ,I have grown up into a more  undestanding person about the reality of this world.   I TRY to remember this: if you want to be happy make others people  be happy , don´t take to the street a moody face.

i think most people will experience this midlife crisis, but as long as she / he settles financially (at least a decent job) and has good relationship with his/her partner can cope or reduce this midlife crisis..

when peoples  are young  ignore that they are in possession of a coveted treasure (youth) the only problem is that youth is not permanent ,,just looking at youngsters  how they party ,dance and all that …and then is over, a family ,responsabilities , your   boss that makes your life miserable ,start  getting bold , growing a belly, girls address   you saying :Sir , instead of ehh guy !! After 40 you are a dinosaurious ,if you want to apply for a job.luckily ,my midlife crisis was mild.

well, I’m 37 and I haven’t got my “midlife crisis” yet, who knows in three years, I don’t know, what I know is that I started to live seriously when I got my 30 years.

It was my start-point and even if I’ve been having less time, I’ve used it better, doing sport, studing and dedicating myself on doing that things I’ve ever loved like cooking and travelling.

I think that it isn’t a very problem getting older, every age can be interessant because your personal experiences rise and you make less error in life.

My advice is to try to overcome the midlife crisis by the good and reliable people around us, by the hobbies and interests we have, by the good family and wife (husband), who will be aware what to do for your calmness and comfort. It is inevitable that we all are getting older day by day, but let us look ahead with an optimism, though it may be not easy task to do. We have only one life and there is no time for us to waste it in the sadness.

I don’t know anyone who is having a midlife crisis. I don’t think I could give them much advice either, except for that it’s only temporary. :)
