Every day, over 25,000 passenger airplane flights are taken. That means a whole lot of people are flying through the sky at any given moment. Even though flying in planes is now almost as routine as driving a car, there’s still something amazing about it.

But airplane travel is also uncomfortable and annoying. From the cramped seats to the bad food (if you’re lucky enough to have food served on your flight at all), flying can be a pretty stressful and unpleasant experience. It certainly isn’t as easy as the birds make it look. Hear Jason and Amy talk about traveling by plane.

Jason:  Have you ever flown first class?

Amy:  Once. I got a free upgrade, and it was amazing.

Jason:  Isn’t it?

Amy:  It would be so much better if you could just fly first class, especially on international travel. They have those seats now that turn into beds.

Jason:  They do?

Amy:  Yes! They lie all the way down.

Jason:  That’s all I want on a plane. It’s so miserable that I just want the time to pass as quickly as possible.

Amy:  I know. I was on a flight recently that had so little leg room that even for me there was not enough leg room, and I’m a very petite girl.

Jason:  Yeah.

Amy:  And for a six-foot tall guy, it seems like so uncomfortable.

Jason:  And I swear every flight I’m on has at least four babies.

Amy:  I know.

Jason:  At the same time though, I feel bad. Every time I’m on a flight and get really irritable and be like, “I just wish I was in a bed and not this uncomfortable seat!” I have to stop and go, “But I am flying through the air. That’s pretty miraculous.”

Amy:  It’s true.

Discussion

Go Super to Listen Go Super!

Jason asks Amy if she has ever flown first class. She says she only got to fly first class once, and it was a great experience. She and Jason both wish they could fly first class all the time, especially on international flights. It would make airplane travel a lot more comfortable.

Jason and Amy talk about the different things that make flying uncomfortable. Often, there isn’t enough leg room on planes. Jason says it seems like there are always babies crying on planes, too. But he still thinks it’s amazing that we’re able to fly at all.
Do you like flying? What are the best and worst parts of airplane travel?

There are only two emotions in a plane:  boredom and terror.

I absolutely love flying!!! It’s just the feeling of going somewhere new that excites me :) I love the food on the plane, I love taking pics of the clouds etc.. The only thing I don’t like about airplane travel is the waiting and queques before you get on the plane and the way you feel the pressure on your ears. That really hurts! Plus I must say the seats can get a bit uncomfortable when flying a long distance. That’s why I prefer short flights to long ones. But other than that flying is just a great experience! A lot of people are scared of crashing and yes, I agree it could happen anytime. But actually you have got to ask yourself: How often has this actually really happened? I prefer short flights to long ones. An hour is enough to make it feel great. I also love the way the plane sometimes suddenly plunges or tilts to the side. I always get this tingly sensation that rises inside of me when the plane sets off and lands again. What I also love about flying is when before taking off the plane starts getting faster and faster which really gets me excited! :D Flying just makes me feel free.

I like flying so much. It’s really miraculous. Unforgettable feelings! But at the first time I was too scary and even cried. I’m thinking about taking some courses to be a flight attendant.

I like. But I have no patient to spend a long time in flying journey.Actually it is noisy and unintereting. But I usually was excited at that time because I would be in a new place that I wanted to go.

Actually,I am not a big fan of flying. But the best part of it is that it’s very convenient and time-saving.You can even pack your bag the last minute. You don’t have to spend a lot of time on the road. Thus when you get to the destination, you won’t feel tired or exhausted. The worst part is that the price of air ticket is much higher. And I always had this insane feeling that it might crash any time.I just have this sense of insecurity.Of couse I know it is very silly. But everyone has his own phobia, right?

Just a bit of advice  in case of ignoring  this.    When on transatlantic flights  elder people should  walk up and down the aisle    as much as possible. Not doing so , elder people are   at    risk  of having a  blood clot  that   could  in some cases  be fatal.  At least, I directly  know of two cases.

Airplanes’ ergonomics must definitely be reviewed, they design seats and spaces just as they would do for trains or other casual means, whereas airplanes are basically meant for long distance travels which obviously need a more comfort-friendly approach.

I have flown twice in my life and it was quite nice. Admittedly it wasn’t first class but I couldn’t complain. I will never forget that beautiful view of the Baltic Sea among cumulus clouds, ah… :)
