Amy:  Did you catch Madonna at the Super Bowl halftime show?

Marni:  I did indeed, and I have to say, I was pretty impressed.

Amy:  So you think she’s still going strong?

Marni:  I do. She’s 53 years old, and that woman can move.

Amy:  I was impressed. I did think she looked a little stiff, but I guess it was appropriate for her age. But her body looked amazing, and I just think it’s cool that she’s kind of kept up with the times.

Marni:  Absolutely.

Amy:  She’s changed with the times. She isn’t still doing the same old thing, although I was most excited during that show when she did some of her old songs, like her classic songs.

Marni:  Of course, yeah. The classics are always what people get excited about. But she previewed a new song off her new album, and it’s kind of interesting. I thought it was a throwback to some old sort of girl group-esque songs.

Amy:  Well, and she’s not just doing new music. She’s also started all these other things. She’s doing a clothing line. She directed a movie.

Marni:  Yes.

Amy:  I just think it’s cool that she hasn’t slowed down.

Marni:  Absolutely not. She’s definitely still an icon.

Marni and Amy talk about how impressed they are by Madonna. She is in her fifties and still going strong. She gave a great performance at the Super Bowl this year and is doing other projects as well.

In addition to putting out a new album, MDNA, Madonna recently directed her first film. She has also starred in films as an actress. She and her daughter, Lourdes, have a clothing line together too.

Marni likes Madonna’s new songs. But she and Amy agree that her classics are still her best work. They’re what made her an icon.

Are you a fan of Madonna? Can you think of any other performers who are still going strong at her age? Which performers are you most impressed by?

For her performance in Superbowl, I could say I was pretty impressed.

I am always very looking forward to any artist’s stage-act.. and hers was artsy, bold, and conceptual-done. That’s why I said she is great performer.

But for her voice & song, still not impressive enough to be a Queen (eventhough she has many fans). What is the reason Madonna be called The Queen of Pop long time ago, anyway?

For seriously, I only take a note to one Madonna’s song “Music”.

I think she’s great pop performer, but still far away from crown of The High Queen Of Pop Music Kiss

I wish I had only a little of her self-esteem ; )”

Darlings, do you know how much plastic surgery this woman has had? At least two facelifts. Recently she has taken to wearing gloves, even at high society events with 35,000 dresses because there is one thing plastic surgery has not yet been able to do…slow down aging in the hands. Hollywood is all about illusion, my friends!

Frankly, I believe she is self-absorbed. Not my cup of tea.

How many times do I have to say I’m outspoken? How many times do I have to say I have a mouth where my heart used to be ?

I don’t strive for personal favor, but I don’t need to make a bad name for myself either. But that was a real eye opener for me, I think I should gauge how I express myself on this site. I’ll refrain from being honest as much as I can , I will try .try

give me a break , if I see something I say it. if that doesn’t categorize me as a gentleman whatever it makes me then  I’m proud of. When I see a shooting star or a double rainbow I tug whoever is within my reach and yell ” wow, look , isn’t it wonderful?”

I’m such not a gentleman, I just have an eye for beauty and a pair of lips to praise it.

A little stiff!, I think Amy must have seen a different Madonna than I have!

Would I call myself a Madonna fan? Probably not; in fact, I’m not a faithful follower of any artist. However her work is undeniably catastrophically good. I think she has an innate gift of voice; it’s very melodious even when she’s only speaking. She’s a remarkable lyricist; a skill she has cemented in her songs, which I think is the main fiber in her music, the iron beams that enable her songs to withstand time. She’s a worldwide superstar, which means she can go anywhere on the face of earth and captivate any crowd, that shows how popular that woman is. She definitely made a name for herself. I’m probably too young to remember what she did to get to this iconic status she’s at, but I do remember she’s been there for as long as I’m old, and she’s not showing any signs of wear.  Her talent trumps anything and phases through generations and more to come.  I think with Michael Jackson gone, she’s the remaining axis around which the world of music revolves, talents like theirs only come once in a bicentenary. Let’s not even start with naming all of those she had inspired, because there’s an iota of Madonna in every star that shines. Everything she sings turns into an emerald-plated chunk of diamond sprinkled with gold-dust from a silver salt shaker Tongue out

Madonna fell into the legendary fountain of youth while she’s was trotting on its edge. I think Madonna gets a wrinkle every 50 years and she’s only 53, you do the math. She’s an attractive woman who makes girls half her age envious. She is beautiful in any language and any guy who disagrees must have had too much to drink the night before. Just like her music is rebellious her appearance and demeanor are also age defying and mind boggling. She embodies a perfect marriage of internal and external beauty, as a man I can’t tell exactly which one attracts me the most, all I know is that she triggers something in me that no other female artist can, let it be Britney Spears, Beyonce or anybody else, no one comes close to Madonna. In terms of music and physical appeals combined, if I were to grade her on a scale of 1 to 10, I’d give her a “very-good-point-5”. I’m a guy and I’m not afraid to say that some of her songs are earworms to me, on many occasions I found myself humming “don’t tell me” or “like a virgin”, questioning my sexuality at times ; ) , but then again only Madonna  can impact me that way. Long-Live the Queen of Pop!

I also was confused a little reading that line in the dialogue.

Oh, Buttafly, you know, Madonna’s Frozen was my favorite video of hers too!! :)
