Some people are lucky. They don’t get headaches very often, or when they do, a simple pill makes the headache go away. But others suffer frequently from painful headaches, and medicine doesn’t always help. A bad headache can make it impossible for you to get your work done, or ruin a fun day. Hear Devan and Jeff talk about headaches.

Devan:  I have a headache again, for like the fourth day in a row.

Jeff:  You always have headaches.

Devan:  I know. I’ve tried everything. I’ve tried getting massages, I’ve tried acupuncture, pain relievers. Nothing seems to help. Do you get headaches a lot?

Jeff:  Fortunately, I don’t. I don’t want to jinx myself, but…

Devan:  Not even when you have a hangover?

Jeff:  Kind of. There are many other problems with hangovers that are worse than the headache, so I’m not paying attention to that. But I used to get headaches when I was a teenager. Migraines.

Devan:  Yeah.

Jeff:  Which was no fun.

Devan:  Do you think they were stress related?

Jeff:  I don’t know. I never quite figured it out. But they went away.

Devan:  I hope mine go away eventually, because I’m really tired of being in pain every day.

Jeff:  You under a lot of stress yourself, Devan?

Devan:  I am. Maybe school is doing it to me.

Jeff:  What about your diet? Sometimes food can set off a headache.

Devan:  I’ve heard that before. I’ve heard that sugar or caffeine sometimes can set off headaches, and I do love my morning coffee, so maybe I should start cutting back.

Jeff:  Have you been sleeping well?

Devan:  You know, you’re starting to make me realize that there might be a lot of things that are causing these headaches.

Devan tells Jeff that she has a headache. She has had one every day for the past four days. Jeff says it seems like she gets headaches a lot.

Devan has tried many different things to try to cure her headaches, from acupuncture to pills. But nothing seems to work. Jeff says he used to get bad headaches as a teenager, but he doesn’t get them anymore.

Many things can cause headaches, such as stress, poor sleep, and certain foods. Devan thinks she might have all these things in her life! But it can be very hard to know exactly what caused a headache.

Do you often get headaches? What do you do to make them go away? What do you think causes them?

Headache is one of the most annoying problems for everybody who felt it. I’m not an  exception. Moreover I have had  migraine  for 5 days already. In the morning when I open my eyes, the first thought that cross my mind is if I  still have a headache. And, I do have it again.:( I have many kinds of tablets for  a headache in the box, but I really don’t know which one is necessary for this very case. So, I understand you deeply Anja and Lesya.

Criz, you are right, the longer you cry, the more headache you have. So, I forbid myself to cry. I know it exactly, if I cry, I feel dead in the morning.

Julito, haha. I wish you never had ” a nail” in  the head; and if you don’t remember if you had it, it’s a great way out of the problem. I will try  to do the same. Just forget about it.:)

Wish everybody to  be safe and sound.:)

I was kinda girl who loved to cry and crying made me have headaches most of my time, it was kinda painful in my whole head you know, and whenever I walked my head really felt the most painful ever and I often afraid to walk. Now I don’t have that kind of headache  because I don’t cry that often hehehe, I’m too busy with my studies and always burn the mid night oil so now my problem is migranes. Is only on my left head, I have it all the time and I don’t know how to cure this. It is like my left part of my body feel it, left head, left eye, left arm, left shoulder really feel it, I don’t know what is this but at least it is not that pain as headache. Still I feel it uncomfortable, sometimes when I’m too busy I just don’t feel it, I forgot about the pain Cool

My sister often gets headache when she comes home after work. She’s dealing with too much stress and pressure every single day. In my case, dont have to worry much about this since I only get pounding headaches when im faced with too many questions, problems in the office and considering the weather here in the philippines as well. Its also a good thing for me to get a headache for this is a sign that i am dehydrated and i get reminded to rehydrate by drinking water… thanks for this topic. it really helps…

I don’t have headaches often at this age, since I’m still quite carefree and untroubled by life. I know I’m so much luckier than many others. ;)

Eat well, sleep well,; live slowly and simply; and finally, exercise – headaches won’t be much of a problem anymore.

[I’m sorry to hear about your illness, Buttafly!!! I really hope it gets easier for you! Best wishes!!! ;) ]
