Fifteen years ago, the film “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” became a big success around the world. It was popular for many things… its storyline, its acting, and its amazing martial arts. In fact, many people believe that it’s the ultimate martial arts movie. But will the sequel be better?
It’s always difficult to know if a sequel will be as good as the original, especially an original that won so many awards. But there will always be people who are up for giving it a chance. If you are one of those people, it’s time to brush up on the first film’s storyline. It’s safe to say that “The Green Legend” will definitely be exciting!
Marni and Jessica are talking about the platforms on which they can see “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: The Green Legend” next year. Read on in today’s English lesson about a new martial arts film.

Jessica: I just heard a rumor that “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” the sequel... the Green Legend… is being released exclusively on Netflix and IMAX.
Marni: That’s two very different platforms, right?
Jessica: I agree. It’s going to be interesting, because I think people aren’t going to the movies as much as they used to because of things like Netflix.
Marni: I’m guilty of that.
Jessica: Me too, me too. So I think it will be nice because people will be able to watch the movie in the comfort of their own homes. But I’ve actually never seen an IMAX movie before.
Marni: It’s amazing!
Jessica: Is it?
Marni: Oh my gosh. It’s all around you. So yeah, if you want the ultimate theater experience, IMAX is the way to go.
Jessica: It may get me off the couch and in the IMAX theater.
Marni: That original film came out quite a while ago. I would have to rewatch the first one in order to brush up on the storyline.
Jessica: Gosh, I should do that, too. Maybe we should have a viewing party, and then we can watch the second one on Netflix.
Marni: Or IMAX, if you’re up for the experience.
Jessica: That sounds like fun.

Jessica thinks it’s interesting that people can see the movie either on Netflix or in an IMAX theater, but not in a regular theater. She thinks that the decision was made because people like to see films in the comfort of their homes.
Marni agrees that it’s interesting that the movie will be available on only those two platforms. She says that she’s one of the people who uses Netflix a lot, but she thinks that going to an IMAX theater is the best way to see a film.
