Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle is the sequel to the blockbuster movie Charlie’s Angels, which came out in 2000. The films were inspired by the television series, which was popular in the late 70’s.
The Charlie’s Angels movies feature Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu as crime-fighting secret agents. They are masters of espionage, martial arts, and disguise.

Beth

Miguel: So Beth, are you getting fired up about the new Charlie’s Angels movie?

Beth: Totally. There’s been so much hype and before all these recent previews came out I was already excited, so you know I’m psyched.

Miguel: So why, why do girls like Charlie’s Angels so much? I mean, what’s the big story with them?

Beth: Because you’ve got three really attractive and, uh, fit, tough women who are, you know, doing all kinds of cool stunts, and taking on the world.

Miguel: I like the actors who are in it, or actresses – they’re definitely beautiful and talented and all that, but the first Charlie’s Angels, I think it was kind of stupid.

Beth: Oh, Miguel, I don’t know. I don’t know. I thought the first one was really fun and I think the second one’s going to be so much better.

Miguel: Well I guess we’ll see. When does it come out? In a couple weeks?

Beth: No, it’s like two days! You have to get ready. It’s here, practically.

Discussion

Like Beth, I love the Charlie’s Angels movies. I think it’s great to see females starring in action-adventure movies. Usually the stars of these kinds of movies are famous men, like Tom Cruise, Arnold Swarzenegger or Mel Gibson. It’s nice to see that women can kick butt too!
I saw Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle last week, and it was just as good as the first movie. I definitely recommend it!
